The question that stumped both Jenna and Phil

Jenna:  Phil there's a lot of new grad PTs out there right now. So give me if you can think back, give me a big win you remember from early on in your career and give me a big learning item that's from the beginning of your career.

Phil:  Wow! That might take a minute to think about. I'll tell you a story on my first patient, though. I bring back my first patient. I literally call back my first patient as a new grad, and he walks up and he's like "So how long have you been doing this?" And I'm like, let's see here. It took you about 10 seconds to walk from the chair to here, so that's about how long. But I played it off as, "Well, if you consider all the training and things like that, it's been about three years, but it's my first day on today's job."
But gosh, big win?

Jenna:  And not necessarily like you changed a life, the first one, but where you either felt, okay, this is right.

Phil:  I think I need to ask you this question.

Jenna: I'm sorry. I don't know that I have an answer either.

Phil:  I literally can't come up with anything.

Jenna:  I know. I didn't really think about the answer either.

Phil:  That's 25 years ago.

Jenna:  I know, but everybody remembers their first year. Now that I'm saying it . . .

Phil:  No, you don't! At 25, you don't.

Jenna: I can't remember. No, I can't remember anything. But I do remember my first five patients very distinctly.

Phil:  Did you have a big win in those?

Jenna:  No, I don't know if any of them got better. Like my fourth patient, I still see now.

Phil:  Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Jenna:  I think it's a good thing. It's a degenerative disease . . . It's Parkinson's.

Phil:  There you go. You answered the question. That's your big win.

Jenna:  No, it's not my big win.

Phil:  Then what is?

Jenna:  I don't know. I don't know. Maybe that's not a good question.

Phil:  I think it's a perfect question. I think we're going to post this video just as is.

Jenna:  We don't remember anything good from our early career. . .

Phil:  Do you remember anything bad?

Jenna:  No, nothing like blew up or anything like that.

Phil:  So I guess the moral of the story is as a new grad, you're all stressed right now. You're not going to remember anything. I love it. Great. The end.
